Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. New Home Card

Todays little joy is to celebrate a friends new house. I just loved these stamps from Polka Doodles. I coloured the images with promarkers. I added flowersoft to give a little texture on the trees and garden paths. It was a fun card to make using different papers from the Polka Doodles "Sundae of Seasons" This is such a great cdrom and I find myself going back to it time and time again for all the different papers. I use cdroms alot...sometimes for the images and sometimes when I'm looking for a different paper. I know alot of crafters that just use their cdroms for the image and matching backing papers and that's it. I love to look at the images and see it as a design feature for the card and what I really enjoy is doing the decoration..sometimes using embellishments from my stash or more than likely making my own. I love my collection of cdroms and as a crafter they are my largest resource. I can't seem to get on very well with card kits because i always feel as if too much as been done for me. Having so much done seems to stifle something in my brain. I think it's down to the fact that I like fiddling about and starting with a blank piece of paper,,some stamps and whatever colouring medium I fancy is the way to go for me. I always buy stamps that I feel I can use in lots of different ways, one of them as an addition to an image from a cdrom. I'm off now to make a start on an atc...so out will come the inks and the jewels. I will share when it's finished. Lets get crafting.
