Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. O Christmas Tree

The card today is from the Joanna Sheen 'Hollypond Hill Christmas' cdrom. I just loved the original Hollypond Hill cdrom, so I was thrilled that a christmas one had been released. Even though the cdrom features alot of rabbits (which I adore), there are many images that are not. The card is a prime example of this. The baubles at the side are made using 'Tattered Lace' dies which are actually chinese lantern dies which I have cut the bottoms off. I love the shape and detail of them and as soon as I saw them I thought christmas baubles. I love to look at dies and see how I can use them in different ways as I think the more ways that I can use them the more value for money. I cut the dies in mirror board and then mounted them onto glittercard. I look out of the window today and can see the mountains..which is always a good sign...if the mists are down, it usually means that the rains are on their way. You can tell how good the weather is by the number of cats on the couch. Today there are none. They are probably circling the duck pond..hoping that the ducks will suddenley become the size of sparrows. Well it's time to go and craft...I have had some new dies arrive this morning..so it's time to play. I hope you have a great day...take care and happy crafting.
