Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. The heart of a mouse

Today there is not a holly berry or christmas bauble in sight. In fact my crafting today is all non christmas. I've got orders for 5 birthday cards, so it will be a change but having to change your mind set can be a challenge. Because I've been doing christmas for over a month, all my stash that is round my work area is christmas based so I'll have to go on a ferret for what I'll need. The orders are for very individual cards..featuring orangutans, racing tricycles (I never knew such a thing even existed until I started doing this ladies cards) and super cars. I'm also thinking of doing two other orders which are a ladies that lunch card and a card for a diy fanatic. So I intend to have a coffee, watch a bit of create and craft and then begin.
The card featured today is another House Mouse image from a Joanna Sheen cdrom. The die cut ivy garland is from Crafters Companion. This is a 6x6 card.
Well the kettle is now boiling so I'll head off and make that coffee. Have a great day..take care and happy crafting.
