Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Snow

Todays card is made using the alphabet from the Crafters Companion 'Father Christmas' cdrom. I first embossed the background paper with a snowflake design. I cut and mounted the word snow from the alphabet section onto a piece of blue card. I die cut lots of different snowflakes and added them. It is a really simple card but it twinkles in the light and the embossing gives it a lovely look.
Well it looks as if we are in for a wet and windy weekend, with a serious weather warning for Monday. Winter is definately on it's way. I have to admit loving the wind. There is something so vital about it. I always think that I'm a bit like a dog with their head out of the car window..lol..I love standing there feeling the power. When I was little, I used to love lying cosy in my bed, listening to the storm raging outside. I can even remember the feel of my candlewick bedspread under my fingers. I have to admit to pulling out the little pieces of thread from the bedspresd and making my own patterns. Perhaps that where my love of pattern came from. The other thing that I remember is getting a piece of paper and drawing a big squiggle on it and then colouring all the different sections in. And of course no section could touch another of the same colour. Many happy hours were spent colouring these tiny sections. And now I love Zentangle..it must be all linked. Many of my crafting friends can admit to loving certain papers that much that they can never use them...that they get a buzz just looking at them. Me too. I can also get carried away with material...the pattern of it. This is why I so love my cdroms. I can print a certain pattern out again and again and not have to worry that I will run out of it. There is a certain Joanna Sheen paper that has foxgloves and other wild flowers on it..and it makes me happy. With that in mind..I shall have to go back to work..so the kettle is going on ..I always need that caffeine in my system. I hope that the weather is kind to you this weekend and that you have a wonderful time..take care and happy crafting
