Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Snowy Rooftops

Todays card is from a set of decoupage by Docrafts called Tulip Christmas. This set and many others are available from jb-crafting supplies. It is really a lovely set of decoupage (all diecut). In the set there are 8 decoupage images and matching backing papers. As far as value for money goes..I don't think that they could be beaten. I have been really enjoying doing this set..it's not the usual type of thing that I do but it has given me lots of ideas. You can of course just use what is in the set without using anything else and still produce great cards but you can also look at your own embellishments and add more to the card. Either way you'll end up with a great christmas card.
I've been having a lovely time this weekend with lots of crafting play and the company of good friends. All my friends know that I'll be crafting away as we chat. Henry keeps the brews coming and we put the world to rights. I've been playing with my new tonic dies and will be sharing the outcome this week.
The weather here is really windy despite the sun shining. All the cats are out playing. I think that they really like the feel of the wind in their fur. A couple of them are skipping round the studio roof. It's so funny to watch them playing tag in the wind. Here in Snowdonia you really feel the changing of the seasons. I can look out of my window and watch the colours changing. I really wouln't want to live anywhere else..I've been here for over 20 years and have to say I still get a buzz that I live in such a beautiful place. Many people come here and can't handle the isolation. It's as if they can't manage without a pub or a shop. It's as if they cannot entertain themselves. Some people cannot handle living in such a small community..village life is not for everyone. The fact that everyone knows you and your business is something that doesn't bother me and in times of difficulty the friends that I have made here have helped me alot. But some people don't like it and don't last very long. They seem to arrive thinking that they are going to live the rural idyll without any work. They resent the rain, moan about the sheep, lack of pavements and expect to be able to live a town life in the middle of nowhere. But as I've said they don't last long. One hard winter with snow, blocked roads and no electric for a while and you know that come February the for sale signs will be up.
Well  the glitter is calling..hope you have a really good day..take care and happy crafting
