Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Christmas Bunnies

Todays card is one of my favourite images from my favourite christmas cdrom of this year...'Hollypond Hill Christmas brought to us by Joanna Sheen. I have used this cdrom so much this year...there are so many classic images. I love the victorian feel to this image and of course I love the fact that it has rabbits on it. I really don't know where this thing for rabbits has arrived from. I only had one rabbit as a child. It was brought to our house by the famous footballer George Best. He was friends with my Grandmother and Grandfather and gave it to me as a present. I can't remember him very well but my one abiding memory of him is this present and him sitting in the parlour by the side of the range having a drink with my Grandfather. He always arrived with a bottle of Johnnie Walker whisky and I can see them now..sitting there having a drink while my Grandmother walked round getting them something to eat. George was very young at the time and must have been beginning to get famous. How strange ..thinking of that now..and how amazing that he got as famous as he did..it was in the 60's when he used to visit. I suppose in a way he was the Beckham of his day. But to me he was a friendly visitor who made us all laugh.
People are about to start arriving tomorrow for the festive season...these last couple of weeks seem to have gone by so quickly..excitement is definately gathering here. I can't wait to give Son his presents. He has no idea what to expect...isn't that the best way. I hope that your preparations are going well.
Well the coffee calls..I am a little tired today so caffeine is definately needed..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting
