Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. A Hug to remember

Todays card is from The Gruffies and Happy Hopper cdrom brought to us by Joanna Sheen. It features the fantastic artwork of Ellen Jareckie..the amazing artist who also draws the wonderful house mouse. I'm lucky enough to be on the design team for the Gruffies and guests challenge blog. If you love the gruffies, hoppers or house mouse...why not pop over and enter the challeng. This months challenge is sponsered by the fabulous My Creative Classroom. I just had to make this card because I love the image. Sometimes I need to send a card to someone who just needs a hug and this card would be perfect to tell them that they are being thought of. I have double mounted the image on burgundy card and then holographic card. I used the same colours on the border, just adding some diecut leaves and heart shaped jewels.

I'm quite surprised just how lovely the weather has turned out today. When I wheeled Reg today it was raining off and on and the wind was blowing. Just now as I look out of the window the sun is shining, the sky is a brilliant blue and all I can hear is birdsong. All the cats are stretched out on the studio roof and Reg for once has his basket to himself.I intend to spend the rest of the afternoon making cards.

The arrival of the post bought an excitement. It was my design team parcel from jb-crafting supplies. This month I'm going to be lucky enough to be working with the Halcyan Days cdrom by Crafters Companion. I'm so looking forward to having a play...so you can be sure that I will be sharing some cards from this with you very soon. I know that I'm so lucky to be on a number of design teams and I get to work with some amazing crafters. I spend my day surrounded by a fabulous amount of inspiration. If ever I feel as if I don't know what to do or what type of card to make,I only have to go and look at the challenge blogs and I'm ready to go again. They really are an amazing group of ladies who gave me immense support when I lost Henry.

Well the kettle is boiling and the coffee calls so until tomorrow...take care and happy crafting.
