Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Patchwork Angel

Todays card is from the One Summers Day cdrom from Joanna Sheen. As most of you know by now, I have a bit of a thing for patchwork and for that reason I love this backing paper.Even though it was made to accompany this image..there are so many ways I could use it.That's why I love my cdrom library..hundreds and hundreds of papers at the click of a button. Mind you saying that I have boxes and boxes of card and paper..lol and we won't even go into the boxes of embellishments. I had a major crafting disaster last night.I was in the process of putting some new peel off boxes away onto the shelf where they live and it must have been the straw that broke the camels back...and the shelf collapsed. All of a sudden there was thousands of peeloffs everywhere, boxes of crystal\s and dies everywhere. In the middle of the chaos, Jeffrey decided to walk the other way to me and took out the contents of two shelves to my left. I was buried. It took nearly two hours to get it altogether well enough that I could then finally empty the contents of the broken shelf. My hero is now called George. He managed to fix my shelf and today I have the joy of putting it all back into some sort of order...lol I did admit to him that it was my own fault..that for weeks I had just been stuffing stuff onto the shelf whilst I was working.

When I took Reg for a wheel today..we held up the traffic again..the four cats that came along today were determined to make the cars slow down and I have to say in most cases stop. I seem to spend my days being laughed at by car and van drivers. Today I met a lovely couple who were visiting the area. It turned out that the lady had been born in the village. She had left the village at the age of five because her Father had worked in the quarry and when it closed, the family had to move so he could continue to work.As with most of us, her earliest memories were so clear and it was so nice to hear her memories of the village. I have said that I will write to her and let her know what is happening in the village. I only manage to go out once a day but the lovely people that I meet in the middle of nowhere is truly amazing.Mind you I am one of those people that will chat with anyone. Henry used to say that he could leave me anywhere and when he came back someone would be chatting to me.

Well the coffee is calling, the sun is shining and I'm getting ready to tidy the shelves. So I hope that you have a good day...take care and happy crafting

  1. Your card is beautiful. Just reading about your shelf collapsing made me fear for my craft stash! Hope you are getting straight.
