Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Christmas Baubles

Todays card is a design team make for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog. The theme is Christmas and it has been sponsered by the great team over at Scribble and Scrap Crafts. They have been kind enough to offer a £10 voucher, to be spent at the online store as a przie for the winner. Well worth a go. So why not pop over to the page and have a look...there is a link on the side bar of my blog. For this card I mounted the image and the backing paper onto some christmas red card.I love this image of the gruffie carrying the decorations. The image itself and the backing paper is from The Gruffies and Happy Hoppers cdrom brought to us crafters by Joanna Sheen. The other card that I have made for this months challenge features a Happy Hopper...well I just had to have a rabbit..I will share that one with you half way through the challenge. I do hope that you will think about entering...if you need any inspiration..the rest of the team have created some fabulous cards. I have embellished the card using my diecut decorations and foliage.I hope that you like it.

I never knew how I was going to feel about Halloween, with missing Henry and all the memories of Halloween past ut it turned out to be a joy. One of my friends was bringing a group of children round the village, trick and treating and arranged to bring them to my house. As you know my parlour is upstairs by the window ( the biggest cat flap in the world) and if you are standing on the path..you can't always see me. When they arrived, I put Raven on the windowsill and all they could see was the cat. As I spoke...one little girl said..look..look..the cat is talking. And all the children were convinced that this black cat was speaking to them. Even a couple of the parents were taken in. It was so sweet and so funny...it made my night. Henry would have definitely have approved. I hope that you all had a good evening..whether you celebrate Halloween or not.

Even though we had some terrible weather in the night..today is at least dry for the moment. My kitchen cupboards are going in, my electric sockets are going in and the excitement is getting to me..lol. So next week hopefully I will be unpacking the crates. It has been so long since my kitchen has been all packed up, I can't wait to get it all out and have a play.I just need to have the little bits finished and then, hopefully all my paintings can go up, the crates can be unpacked and I can then take some photos to share all the madness with you..lol

Well the coffee is calling and I've lots of christmas cards to make. I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting..
