Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Gruffies and Guests...Flowers and Ribbons

Todays card is a design team make for the fabulous Gruffies and guests. It is a halfway reminder of the current challenge that is running. The theme is anything goes with the option of flowers and ribbons. Please remember that your project has to include a Gruffie, happy Hopper or a House Mouse. As you know I love all of them. My card is from the gruffies and Happy Hopper cdrom brought to us crafters by Joanna Sheen. It features the artwork of Ellen Jareckie who is world famous for all her House Mouse creations. For this card I mounted both the backing paper and the image onto some gold mirri. I created the border using some more gold mirri and some vintage lace. I added some flowers, ribbon and a butterfly.

it's a nice day in the mountains today. Still a bit nippy but the sun is trying to shine. The birds are singing and the cats are out. I had a bit of a surprise today though. I was sitting in my chair doing some work and a cat walked through the window..nothing strange you may think..until I looked at the cat and realised it wasn't one of mine. It was Hobo. He is a large tabby cat that was dumped in the village about 3 years ago. He has always visited my house when he's been hungry or if he has had a problem..bless him. Well he was missing over the winter and I thought that he must have found somewhere but now he's back and has decided that he wants to live here. At the moment he is sat sunning himself on the studio roof.I have fed him because he looked hungry but the trouble is that he doesn't get on with my tribe. But we shall see how it all goes. I don't know where he is eating..he must be eating somewhere because he is a massive tom but who knows. I have rang round all the village and no one knows him...so it's all a bit of a mystery at the moment.

Well the coffee is calling and there is lots of work to be done. I finally decided on toad in the hole last night which we had with mashed potato and steamed cabbage with onion gravy. For tonight we are having a weird concoction which involves cabbage, pasta and bacon. I will let you know how it all goes. I hope you all like the new look for the blog. As you can see there is now a picture of Henry on the right hand side..as he is my inspiration for all that I do. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting
