Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Decoupage Delights...Forget me nots

Todays card is a design team make for the wonderful company of Decoupage Delights. This image is from their Fancy Floral cdrom. This is a very vintage design but I loved the way that the flowers cascade from the framed view. The fact that they are decoupaged also adds to the perspective. On the disc this is a bigger card that I have cut down to the size that I wanted. I placed a ribbon across the back of the first layer. Then I added the bow. There are just so many beautiful images on this cd..it's so worth a look. Also there are so many ways in which you can use the decoupage in all of your other designs...it's an endless resource.

The wind seems to have calmed down..thank goodness. At this moment the weather is calm, but it does make you wonder just how long it can last.In fact it's all very calm here altogether...all the cats and Reg are asleep..it's a truly wonderful thing when it happens..lol. Jeffrey is asleep on the wing of my chair. He did have a moment earlier when Hobo decided to visit. He is convinced that he can fight him through the glass in the window. He is so loud with his yowling..he makes my ears ring.

I can't believe that it's nearly Easter...where does the time go. I can remember many happy easter moments with Henry. We used to have a large fluffy chicken which we always put on the Easter table. Henry was convinced that this was an easter chicken and was there to make sure you were well behaved, else the Easter Bunny wouldn't come..lol.He always drew me pictures of the easter bunny and put it on a card and even as he got older he would make sure that I had an Easter egg and card. He was a very thoughtful person and made all these occasions special for me. I can remember making little chocolate nests and hot cross buns. There was always a special meal..usually a joint of lamb and Henry would always want mint sauce..I always preferred mint jelly but he didn't like it. Many, many happy memories of times past. This Easter will be very different..but then every special occasion in the year has been the same since I lost Henry. But I must count my blessings for all the good times.

Well the coffee is calling and then it will be time to do some colouring, ready for use on some planned projects. I must remember to tell myself that I will be having some more art therapy..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.
