Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Crafting Musketeers...A New Challenge..Shades of Summer

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful Crafting Musketeers Challenge. The theme for this month is shades of summer and is sponsored by the great team over at Hobby House. Why not pop over to the Crafting Musketeers Challenge blog and take a look at the fabulous prize. For my card I decided to use this image from Pollyanna Pickerings British Wildlife cdrom. You would know by now that I just had to use this beautiful painting of a rabbit. To me summer is looking nearer when I see the rabbits in the fields...and daisies always make me think of summer. This cdrom is a great one to have in your collection, besides all the great images presented in lots of different ways, there are just so many different backing papers. Even though the one that I've used is from one of the sets that match the rabbit, I could see me using this on lots of cards.

I'm just so happy with the fact that BT have managed to let me blog. Over the weekend, I have felt as if I'm banging my head on a brick wall. It seems the minute that I start to do some work on the computer..off goes the connection. It's slowly driving me insane..lol. It made me laugh today to be doing shades of summer as a card, when it feels as if it should be shades of winter. All over the weekend and up till now, the weather has been battering the house. We've had torrential rain and gale force winds. At the moment the wind is still raging...but most of the cats have decided to pop out because it's not raining. I have had to put Sprout in a pen because he needs to rest his leg..but gazing at him across the room, he looks as if he's enjoying every moment. He's on a special bed and is stretched out fast asleep. When the window is shut for the night I will let him out so that he can have his supper and then come to bed. He is one for a bedtime cuddle now...if you had seen him when he first arrived you would never have thought that he would ever cuddle up. And he will share his space with all the others. It really is amazing just how little these damaged animals want and how grateful they are for a little love.

Jeffrey is alot better after his dispute with the magpies but is now looking a little bald. I always clear the hair from around any wound, to stop it getting infected..so his head is covered with bald spots, but it is all healing well now,,thank goodness. I think that he has learnt his lesson..at the first sight of a bird he is seen and heard running full pelt for home.

Well the coffee is calling and then I will be playing catch up on all my work. Keep your fingers crossed for me that BT get their act together. If not it may be not just Jeffrey that has a bald spot...I may have pulled my own hair out..lol. So until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.
