Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center....Oddball Art

Today's card is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges. A new challenge has just begun, which will run for the next week. The theme is 'Rip it up, Tear it up'.

We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the great team over at Oddball Art Stamps. So many great designs...why not pop over and take a look at their etsy shop.

On my card, to create the background I began with a piece of dark blue card. I then took 4 pieces of co-ordinating paper, ripping them into strips and added them onto the blue card. I then took my image and coloured it with my promarkers, cut it out and then mounted it onto some more of the co-ordinating paper and mounted that onto another piece of the dark blue card. I then cut some arrows out of one of the papers and used them to point to the sentiment, which I also had mounted onto some of the blue card. It is an unusual make for me but I so enjoyed it and I know lots of people who would find this really funny. Sometimes it's just so nice to step out of your comfort zone and see what you can create.

The sun is shining here in the mountains and all the cats have gone out. A little peace but who knows just how long it will last..lol. I've found myself really down this week..but I've come to expect it every so often. I think that it must be part of the grieving process but it certainly drains me when it comes upon me. The hardest thing that I find is trying to find a way to get my mind out of the fug. Thank goodness for crafting. I've arranged a whole weekend of workto keep me busy. If in doubt..craft...lol.

Well the coffee is calling and Virgo has just arrived to fit Flossie with a sleeping platform. So I'd better go and sort Flossie out. So until later..take care and happy crafting.
