Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. The Crafting Musketeers..........Anything but Square

Todays creation is a design team make for the great team of The Crafting Musketeers. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next month. The theme for this coming month is 'Anything but Square'. I don't know why but I find this to be one of the hardest themes that I have to work with. And I don't know why..it's as if I have a mental block. It makes me laugh..because so many times I set out to make a card and don't even think about what shape it's going to be and yet when faced with a set shape that I can't use..I reach a full stop..lol For this challenge, I decided to make a wall hanging. I had a scalloped circle with forms the base and I inked that with a distress ink and added some stamped leaves using the same ink. I printed out the scroll and decoupaged it and then mounted it onto some gold mirri. The scroll is from the Just Ink Lined cdrom called The Next Big Thing. I added a gold bow and a ribbon hanger.

We are so lucky to have been sponsored for this challenge by the wonderful team over at JGD Crafts.

I hope that you will pop over and take a look at the challenge blog. The other members of the design team have produced some wonderful creations and I always find them a great source of inspiration.

It has been a very busy day today. The kittens were really up to no good today..lol. As I do every day I let Flossie out for a run before I feed her and today the kittens thought that they would come out as well..lol Just as I getting Flossies food into her dish..Fiesty and Nosey took off over the couch. Little tails were straight into the air and there was no sign of a kitten wobble..they were picking up speed. Goodness help me..it's not long until I start to introduce them to kitten food and then they will be running round the room. I can only hope that my friend Pretty will be along to help..lol The other little tabby is a rather lazy kitten...he is more interested in playing on his back and sleeping. Bumble is not for playing but rather like sitting at the pen door with his head on one side watching everything..lol. He is the most talkative of all the kittens and has a lot to say on everything.

Well the coffee is calling and I've some work to finish. It's a lovely day today here in the mountains. All I saw on the news last night was about the bad fog...but as always it seems that the only place they're interested in is London..a world away from here. So I'm off to brace myself for more kitten activity...they're all asleep now..worn out after their morning work out...but I know they'll be playing about later. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.
