Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. A Snowflakes Promise......New Challenge

Today's creation is a design team make for the wonderful team over at a Snowflakes Promise. A new challenge has just begun and will run for the next fortnight. The theme for this challenge is Anything Goes...so why not take some me time and create a card using your favourite things.

We are so lucky that this challenge that we have been sponsored by the fabulous team over at SLS Lines. As most of you know I just love these designs..and of course, I had to add this cheeky cat to my collection. Please, if you get the chance..why not pop over and take a look at all the wonderful designs that are available.

To make my wall hanging..I began with a rectangle MDF plaque. For a change, I turned it longways and thought that I would work with it that way. I do have the thought of covering a door with the plaques..following the planks of the door. After all I have only so much wall space..lol. I painted the MDF with my Starlight paint from Imagination Crafts. For many reasons the orange colour is my favourite. I coloured the cat with my promarkers and applied him to the plaque. I then made the sentiment, inked it's edges and applied them to the bottom of the plaque. I just love these cats from SLS..I may have to make a huge picture featuring them all..a future project me thinks.

As I'm writing, Raven is again sitting on my elbow, purring away. The problem is that she is quite a weight..it is like having a work out for my wrist..lol. I keep moving her but she's straight back. The weather is quite nice today and some of the cats have run out to play. But Raven has always been a home body..she will occasionally go out onto the studio roof..but only so she can play knock and run..which is just another way of driving me crazy. She comes onto the windowsill and will scratch and cry at the window until I open it and then when it's open she will look me straight in the face and run off. She loves doing that more than anything..lol. The only other times she goes out is when it's really windy..I think she loves the wind in her fur...all the other will stay in but she begs to go out every time a gale blows.

Well the coffee is calling and then I'm off to do some stamping. I think that I go through phases of what I do and at the moment I'm just loving stamping and inking. I am missing my box of spray inks but I intend having a hunt for it. Trying to spray ink is very eventful with the cats wanting to help but it's always an adventure.  I'm off for a caffeine hit and then to work...so until tomorrow..take care and happy crafting.
