Coming down out of the freezing sky with its depths of light, like an angel, or a Buddha with wings, it was beautiful, and accurate, striking the snow and whatever was there with a force that left the imprint of the tips of its wings — five feet apart — and the grabbing thrust of its feet, and the indentation of what had been running through the white valleys of the snow — and then it rose, gracefully, and flew back to the frozen marshes to lurk there, like a little lighthouse, in the blue shadows — so I thought: maybe death isn’t darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us — as soft as feathers — that we are instantly weary of looking, and looking, and shut our eyes, not without amazement, and let ourselves be carried, as through the translucence of mica, to the river that is without the least dapple or shadow, that is nothing but light — scalding, aortal light — in which we are washed and washed out of our bones. Left of Center..............New Challenge

Today's creation is a design team make for the wonderful team over at Left of Center Creative Challenges.A new challenge is set to begin soon today and the theme for this week is Mixed Media. As always you have the choice of going LOC...for all details of this..please check out the LOC blog.
We are so lucky this week to have been sponsored by the great team over at The Goblyn Workshop. Knowing me as you do..you just know that I had to pick this funky cat. He made me smile and looked as if he was having a similar day to the one I was having..lol

For my make, I began with the canvas. I grabbed one of my stencils and randomly inked through it, continuing to turn the stencil as I covered the whole area.I then inked the edges of the canvas with the same green. I then added orange glitter glue in different areas. The cat...I coloured with my promarkers, then cut him out and added him to the canvas. Finally I wrote out the words, inked them, cut them out and added them to the canvas.

The sun has decided to shine today here in the mountains but your guess on how long it will last..lol. Yesterday we had sunshine, rain, hail snow and wind. The other day it snowed for about 10 minutes but they were the biggest snowflakes that I have ever seen. They must have been at least an inch square..I was fascinated..Nosey and I just sat watching them...me because I'd never seen ones so big and him because he'd never seen snow.

I'm still working in the parlour. I have put down the rules to myself that nothing is going into the cupboard until it has been sorted. Last night I even sorted by my chair..in my corner. Now to my left there is only paint boxes, canvases and items to be altered. So if the urge comes upon me..everything is now in place. Everyone says to me oh you don't know what is down there..but I did..so there was nothing forgotten. But one thing did make me smile. About 4 years ago I lost a small mistletoe die..Henry looked for it and so did I...we had the whole corner out. In the end we both came to think that it must have gotten thrown away alongside the waste paper. But last night as I picked up a piece of paper..there it was. The number of times in the last 4 years I have had to clear out by my chair following a long work session, I still can't believe that it has turned up. I had given up hope that I'd even bought the set it belonged to again because I loved this tiny die so much..so now I have two. Blessings indeed..I'm sure Henry was watching and is now probably giggling to himself.

Well the coffee is calling and I will be back later..BT willing of course. I got up early today to do this blog and it is only now that BT has allowed me to get online. The hub has been flashing away until about an hour ago. I'm expecting bad connection simply because it's a bank holiday and all the holiday homers will be up.And as usual there will be nowhere for anyone to park as the second homers get into a twitch if they can't park their four huge cars outside their holiday homes. I shall also be expecting dogs running loose and of course my favourite bank holiday sound..chainsaws..lol. With that in mind..I hope that you all have a great bank holiday. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.
